The Department of Neurobiology and Biophysics at the University of Washington invites applications for two full time, tenure-track Assistant Professor positions with an anticipated start date of September 2025.Assistant Professors (Tenure-Track) are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.We welcome applications from individuals with research interests that complement and extend the departments current strength in the fields of neuroscience, physiology and biophysics. We are particularly excited about individuals with the potential to bridge research activities across scales and systems, and those that aim to establish a quantitative and mechanistic understanding of molecular, cellular, and nervous system function.

The successful candidate will be expected to establish an independent research program and collaborate with members of the Department and other faculty within the University and affiliated institutions, to contribute to the teaching responsibilities of the department through existing or new courses, and to contribute to the departments commitment to service within the School of Medicine, the University of Washington, and the greater Seattle community.

The base salary range for an Assistant Professor tenure-track position will be $10,834 - $11,667 per month ($130,008 - $140,004 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications,or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
Qualifications
Candidates must have a Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in a relevant field. An M.D. degree or M.D./ Ph.D (or foreign equivalents) are also acceptable.
