This role is available in either our Cary, North Carolina or Lake Forest, California location.

Position Summary:
The Billing Lead will be responsible for leading technical processes within the billing department, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and internal teams. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent leadership skills and a deep understanding of billing processes and systems.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 6+ years in billing or accounting, with demonstrated career growth (Construction Billing experience preferred).
- Proficiency with ERP and billing systems. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and committed to delivering exceptional internal and external customer service.
- Positive, solutions-oriented attitude with a passion for team success.
Responsibilities:
- Lead daily billing operations including invoicing, payment processing, account reconciliation, and audit support.
- Directly manage complex billing tasks for major customers, including preparation of Schedule of Values (SOV) for AIA billings.
- Provide day-to-day guidance to the billing team and assist in resolving billing-related issues.
- Monitor and prioritize receivables and collaborate with project and finance teams to meet organizational goals.
- Maintain a structured and organized repository of billing documentation and support.
- Develop and implement standardized processes and procedures, including billing calendars and credit protocols.
- Support internal and external audits by compiling and submitting required documentation in a timely manner.
- Serve as a backup for other finance functions as needed and contribute to special projects.
- Stay current on industry best practices and billing regulations.
