Position Summary
The Chief of Staff (COS) position at the LSU Alumni Association (LSUAA) is a leadership role responsible for overseeing various fundraising initiatives, alumni engagement and travel programs, and alumni initiatives with respect to membership, corporate membership, chapters, and on campus engagement. The position is responsible for directing and supervising their team along with the annual operating budgets for Development, Chapters, Campus Programs and Marketing and Travel. The VP of Development, VP of Marketing, Travel and Corporate Partnerships, Director of Chapters, and Director of Campus Programs report directly to the COS.
Essential functions
Provides day-to-day leadership and management to the LSUAA that mirrors the mission and core values of the organization.
Responsible for leading the LSUAA team to achieve and surpass development, marketing and engagement, travel, membership both individual and corporate goals and objectives.
Translate constituent needs into customized programs that enhance alumni relations.
Develop and grow outreach opportunities within our local community and surrounding states to increase membership, corporate members and partners.
Assist in the development strategies to market events to alumni, focusing on engaging new segments of the alumni population (including social media and electronic platforms).
As a member of the major gifts team, work with the prospect management team to create, execute and track highly personalized solicitation and stewardship strategies and schedules for all board members, prospects and donors who are also in the major gifts pipeline.
Monitors cross-functional processes to ensure optimal collaboration among staff teams.
Establishes and leads advancement initiatives to enable the Association to meet objectives.
Performs other duties and tasks as may be assigned from time to time by the President and CEO.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
10 years of nonprofit or corporate experience with 8 in a senior management role or equivalent. combination of education and experience.
Proven leader and business operations executive with appropriate related experience.
This position regularly requires long hours and weekend work.
