Purpose Statement

TheData and Analytics Internwill be part of the Rich's Demand Creation Analytics Team. This is a cross functional team that supports and enables Rich's sales & marketing teams, while providing analytical solutions leveraging components of the Azure platform including Data Factory, SQL, Machine Learning Studio, Auto ML, Jupyter & Databricks Notebooks, and Python scripts. Our team truly believes in our Co-Op program as a two-way street. We view the work as important as the journey - we love to help our Co-Op students feel valued, both contributing to the team while also gaining experience.

Term will be Fall 2024 with the potential to extend into the Spring 2025 semester. This position is based out of Buffalo, NY* but we are willing to consider remote students.

*Buffalo, NY area residents are expected to come onsite Tues-Thurs.

Key Accountabilities and Outcomes

  • Responsible for supporting and developing data ingestion and modeling processes
  • You will be leveraging the Azure platform to develop machine learning capabilities by utilizing Azure Machine Learning Studio, Auto ML, data stored in Rich's Azure Data Lake that contains customer profile and transactional information
  • The main outcomes this position will produce is predictive analytics around customer behavior and opportunity volume
  • You will perform data pre-processing to prepare data stored in the Data Lake to prepare and stage data for machine learning experimentation
  • Must exhibit the ability to "tell a story" by building a narrative with the results of the machine learning model results
  • Your ability to work in a SCRUM team environment of 5-7 members will be critical as these teams require associates to share work and work tasks daily
  • You will attend daily stand up meetings, sprint planning, sprint backlog grooming and sprint demos to plan, collaborate and deliver your work tasks

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Data Engineering, IT, MIS or related computing discipline (undergrads are strongly preferred)

  • Strong in Python scripting and utilizing Jupyter and/or Data Bricks notebooks with experience organizing and building in markdown documentation so that other team members can understand your work is critical

  • Data modeling and pre-processing

  • Experience building Machine Learning models in Azure Machine Learning Studio or similar technologies

  • Experience with PowerBI or similar visualization technologies

  • Experience with Visual Studio or Visual Studio Code and GIT repository management

  • Problem solving utilizing hypothesis statements following the scientific method

  • Excellent written and oral skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to quickly adopt new technology with a natural curiosity and critical thinking skills

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision

COMPENSATION

In accordance with state law, the rate or range provided is Rich Products Corporation, its subsidiaries and affiliates ("Rich's"), reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, shift differential, and location.

Annual Range/Hourly Rate

$17.00-$32.00
