Electrician
Job Summary
This position is responsible for routine and corrective maintenance critical to the operation of a coal-fired power plant. The position is directly responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the plant's control systems and associated equipment. The position is responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance tasks, troubleshooting equipment, and completing repairs as necessary. Areas of responsibility include: power circuits, generators, station service, and control devices on plant equipment. This position is responsible for updating plant maintenance records in a computer-based work order management system (Maximo).
Job Experience
- Four years’ experience in an Industrial Electrical field preferred.
- The preferred candidate will have experience maintaining and troubleshooting plant electrical system
- Ability to troubleshoot and maintain electrical equipment such as switchgear, transformers, motors, relays, generators, AC/DC systems, conduit, and junction boxes is a plus.
- Understand and ability to read electrical schematics and P&ID’s
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Must be able to troubleshoot complex systems.
- Knowledge of plant electrical systems desired.
- Must have good problem solving and analytical skills necessary to determine current / future operating conditions and trends for optimizing plant performance.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills, proven written and oral communication skills; ability to work independently and as an effective team member.
- In-depth knowledge of coal-fired power plant systems (turbine, generator, feedwater, etc.) desired.

Other Requirements
- Successful completion of both the POSS – Plant Operator & MASS – Power Plant Maintenance assessments.
- Must be able to support a 24/7 schedule, including holiday and back shift work when necessary.
Education
- 2-Year College/Technical Degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience preferred.
