WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
As an Emergency Management Specialist , you will use your knowledge and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:
- Provides technical assistance to federal, state, tribes, local, and territorial (STLT) partners in developing, maintaining, and enhancing all-hazards, operational plans, policies, and procedures.
- Engages in dialogue with key stakeholders to promote a unified approach to public health emergency preparedness, and national health security, and other policies addressing emerging threats.
- Designs and conducts comprehensive response and preparedness projects where the boundaries of the projects/studies are broad and difficult to determine in advance.
- Conducts and responds to incident response activities to include, but not limited to sizing up requirements for deployment of proper Federal resources to meet the needs of a jurisdiction requesting Federal assistance; drafting scopes of work and cost estimates for mission assignments during Stafford Act declarations; and collecting, analyzing, and sharing relevant operational information to assist in forecasting anticipated resource requirements.

Qualifications
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORSpecialized Experience:
GS-14: You must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-13 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the duties listed below:
- Utilizing organizational principles to advance public health concepts and practices in support of preparedness and response.
- Providing technical guidance and advice in developing courses of action with a multidisciplinary team of public health and emergency management professionals.
- Providing analysis and evaluations of work processes and policies, management practices and work operations taking into full consideration public health and operational requirements for public health initiatives and emergency response.
