As an Emerging Talent Specialist at Baker Hughes, you will play a crucial supporting role in our mission to attract and recruit the next generation of professionals. You will work closely with the Emerging Talent Region Lead to execute innovative recruitment strategies across universities, trade schools, apprenticeship programs and diverse entry-level pathways.

Partner with the best

As Emerging Talent Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Operational Excellence: Handling operational and administrative aspects for the local Emerging Talent Recruitment team.
  • Events Coordination: Help organize and facilitate career events, presentations, and workshops at universities, trade schools, and other educational institutions to attract emerging talent. Collaborate on creative initiatives to engage with diverse talent pools.
  • Industry Trends and Market Insights: Stay up to date with the latest trends and developments in the Emerging Talent Space. Conduct research on industry best practices, evolving educational landscapes, and shifts in candidate expectations to better align the Emerging Talent team. Contribute to discussions on how to adapt our approach based on changing market dynamics and emerging trends
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with colleagues and stakeholders across the business to gather and analyze data, contributing to strategic decision-making and project success.
  • Impactful Projects: Contribute to impactful projects with timelines of 1-3 months, delivering results that support our evolving emerging talent strategy.
  • Emerging Talent Innovation: Use insights from industry trends to brainstorm and develop innovative ideas for attracting emerging talent. This could include proposing new types of events, engagement activities, or digital marketing strategies to reach a wider and more diverse audience.
  • Diversity-Focused Hiring Initiatives: Assist in the development of strategies to attract a diverse range of candidates, ensuring that our emerging talent reflects the communities we serve and enhances our organizational culture.
  • Social Media Savvy: When required leverage social media platforms to engage with potential candidates and build a strong employer brand presence. Develop creative content and campaigns that highlight our company culture, opportunities for growth, and the benefits of joining our team. Monitor social media channels to gather insights and respond to trends in real-time.
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 30% to engage with educational institutions, attend recruitment events, and connect with emerging talent across various locations.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Human Resources).
  • Have previous experience facilitating university related activities and events.
  • Have experience and an aptitude for delivering presentations.
  • Have a proactive approach with a willingness to learn and contribute to the team's success.
  • Be able to prioritize a busy calendar of events, while maintaining relationship with our partner universities.
  • Be highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
