Key Accountabilities
Position Responsibilities (includingbut not limited to):
- Performing all types of work associated with the inspection, troubleshooting, operating, maintenance, calibration and installation of various types of instruments and controls, both mechanical and electrical.
- Adjusting, repairing, calibrating, and installing automatic control equipment which requires a thorough knowledge of the systems and their controls.
- Having an in-depth knowledge of the basic principles of AC and DC electricity and applying knowledge by working from electrical diagrams and sketches to install, test, repair and troubleshoot controls.
- Using such types of gauges and testers as ohmmeters, voltmeters, ammeters, chart recorders, calibrators, dead weight testers, pressure/temperature gauges, etc.
- May work on or near energized circuits or equipment. Performing construction and installation of special types of instrumentation & controls and associated equipment.
- Installing small diameter piping, valves, fittings, tubing, conduits, cables and wiring.
Qualifications
APPLICANTS WHO POSSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED:
- Must pass Field Assessment
- Perform arithmetic or algebraic and geometric procedures in standard, practical applications.
- Valid State Driver's license is required.
EDUCATION:
Applicants must possess an Associate Degree in Electronic Technology, or equivalent.
Those actively enrolled and have completed 11 of the 15 technical courses towards their Associates degree may be considered.Knowledge and understanding of Physics, Mathematics and Electrical/Mechanical Drawing.
EXPERIENCE:At least 3-1/2 years of electrical experience and general working knowledge of electrical circuits and equipment is preferred.
NOTE: A written exam will be administered as part of the interview process and candidates with passing scores will only be considered. Progression is based on satisfactory job performance and successful completion of remaining technical and specific educational courses required to earn the Associates Degree.
