Full Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Fixes, maintains, tests, and calibrates basic diagnostic imaging equipment/systems to ensure its safe and proper operation. Maximizes patient safety by helping the proper use, application and operational performance of patient care equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
- Performs scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) according to hospital policies, procedures and industry-recognized standards, using specialized test equipment, tools, and simulation devices.
- Maintains, services, troubleshoots and calibrates a variety of basic diagnostic imaging systems by using manufacturer service manuals, schematic diagrams, and vendor expertise. Identifies the most prudent means of fix based on clinical need and cost.
- Documents all service events, performance tests and corrective maintenance according to department policy, using computerized maintenance management software applications and other standard office software applications.
- Accountable for ordering fix parts, timely return of applicable fix parts, and timely submission of applicable order-related documentation.
- Helps with assigned projects, related to the installation, relocation, and disposal of medical imaging equipment/systems.
- Communicates effectively with customer(s) using various communication tools, to establish rapport with staff and to keep clinical staff and appropriate clinical management informed of the status of fixes.
- Communicates and works in conjunction with imaging equipment service providers to help with efficient equipment installs and fixes.
- Participates in and/or helps with development of departmental and hospital-based continuous quality improvement initiatives.

- Able to fix, maintain, test, and calibrate basic diagnostic imaging equipment/systems to ensure safe and proper operation.
- Able to travel to other Baylor, Scott & White facilities on a regular basis to help with scheduled and unscheduled service activities.
- Able to effectively communicate with and interact with customers, providers and team members.
- Able to take part in on-call rotation.
- Able to effectively self-manage time and assigned projects.
- Must have the physical ability to raise and move material weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Knowledge of computer systems and networking.

QUALIFICATIONS
- EDUCATION - Associate's Degree or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
- EXPERIENCE - 2 years of experience
- CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION -
- Drivers License (TXDL): Must have a Texas drivers license or obtain within 90 days of hire.
