National Grid's Graduate Development Program (GDP) is a year-long development program for recent college graduates who aspire to take on future leadership roles in a dynamic, ever-changing industry. Graduates will shape the future of National Grid. Bringing fresh thinking, new perspectives, and exploring with energy, we'll give you real responsibility and an opportunity to move with purpose from day one - putting the power to supercharge your career in your hands.

Graduates start their careers at National Grid with an in-depth 3-week in-person Orientation which gives you exposure to all parts of the company, allows you to network with your Graduate cohort, GDP alumni, and senior leaders, and provides you with the opportunity to travel throughout our service territory in the northeast US. Following Orientation, you'll begin working in full-time position outlined below and take part in ongoing development activities including quarterly development sessions, active mentorship, and a Hackathon Project.

About the Position

As an Associate Analyst, you will join the Commercial Services account management team that manages the community of wholesale customers that connect to or operate within our networks in New England. This team owns the strategic relationships with existing and new customers across the portfolio, engaging in contract management and development, and providing project management oversight of customer driven projects to:

  1. Provide superior customer satisfaction.
  2. Ensure National Grid is in compliance with its contracts and tariffs.
  3. Enhance National Grid's corporate reputation.

You will help to provide analytical, research, and reporting support to the Commercial Services Account Managers, Manager, and Director with a focus on driving performance and continuous improvement to enhance the wholesale customer experience.

This is a hybrid role with 1-2 days in the office, subject to change based on project and customer needs.

What You'll Do

You will be at the forefront of the energy transition, helping National Grid achieve its vision of creating a clean, fair, and affordable energy future by supporting the interconnection of large-scale offshore wind, solar, and battery storage projects!

You will:

  • Develop and maintain performance metrics and the Commercial Services Team Hub (i.e. staff meeting) to drive continuous improvements of customer touch points and activities; and, preparation of the Team Hub for bi-weekly meetings, leading metric discussions and improvement action planning.
  • Delegation of Authority (DOA) administrator for customer driven projects, working with Account Managers to monitor open projects and ensure projects are within estimated budget and schedule, billed, and reconciled accordingly.
  • Manage the day-to-day relationships with a segment of the customer portfolio with responsibilities including management of existing and new contracts to maintain and ensure high customer satisfaction and adherence to standards and best outcomes for National Grid.
  • Maintain and improve upon the Commercial Services Policies and Procedures, and lead the regulatory reporting responsibilities across the department.
  • Implement, maintain, and improve marketing strategies across the Commercial Services department, including management of the Wholesale Customer website.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree business, accounting, economics, finance, engineering, or related field from an accredited institution
  • Graduated between May 2024 and June 2025
  • Ability to begin the National Grid Graduate Program on June 2, 2025 or July 7, 2025
  • Valid driver's license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid's Safe Driver policy
  • Applicants for the Graduate Development Program must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States (such as sponsorship for an H-1B, TN, O, L, STEM OPT, or other employment-based work authorization)

It would be awesome if you had

  • Previous experience managing and or leading projects in a team environment.
  • Previous experience developing and managing financial budgets and forecasts.
  • Previous experience supporting or leading negotiations.

More Information

Salary Range
Waltham, Massachusetts $61,000 - $72,000 a year


Please note US Colleagues must reside within our existing footprint, which includes Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island and Vermont. As a National Grid employee, you should also reside within a reasonable, commutable distance to your assigned primary office.
