National Grid's Graduate Development Program (GDP) is a year-long development program for recent college graduates who aspire to take on future leadership roles in a dynamic, ever-changing industry. Graduates will shape the future of National Grid. Bringing fresh thinking, new perspectives, and exploring with energy, we'll give you real responsibility and an opportunity to move with purpose from day one - putting the power to supercharge your career in your hands.

Graduates start their careers at National Grid with an in-depth 3-week in-person Orientation which gives you exposure to all parts of the company, allows you to network with your Graduate cohort, GDP alumni, and senior leaders, and provides you with the opportunity to travel throughout our service territory in the northeast US. Following Orientation, you'll begin working in full-time position outlined below and take part in ongoing development activities including quarterly development sessions, active mentorship, and a Hackathon Project.

About the Position

As an Associate Analyst, Finance Services you will join a team that provides operational support to National Grids Utility Billing Systems. In this role you will ensure positive customer billing experience and work to identify and resolve issues related to billing. You will also work on tariff modeling and new regulatory implementations. On this mission-driven team your efforts will also support the renewable energy projects which help to move us toward the clean energy transition!

This is a hybrid role based in Syracuse, New York.

What You'll Do

As an analyst on this team, you will be responsible for analyzing and reporting information related to National Grid's utility billing system.

In this role you will:

  • Track and monitor accounts for billing.
  • Analyze and resolve accounts that do not bill and work with IT to identify and implement solutions for billing code issues.
  • Review tariffs to ensure accurate application in the billing system.
  • Become a liaison between the National Grid end-users, IT, and the external customers.
  • Create business requirement documents to implement price changes and new rate structures into the billing system, based on review of regulatory orders and end user interviews.
  • Challenge existing ways of working and continuously find a better way to drive greater efficiency within assigned area.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor or Master's degree from an accredited institution
  • Graduated between May 2024 and June 2025
  • Ability to begin the National Grid Graduate Program on June 2, 2025 or July 7, 2025
  • Valid driver's license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid's Safe Driver policy
  • Work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States (such as sponsorship for an H-1B, TN, O, L, STEM OPT, or other employment-based work authorization)

It would be awesome if you had

  • A degree in Finance, Business, Information Systems, or Computer Science is preferred.

More Information

Salary Range
Syracuse, New York $53,550 - $63,000 a year

Please note US Colleagues must reside within our existing footprint, which includes Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island and Vermont. As a National Grid employee, you should also reside within a reasonable, commutable distance to your assigned primary office.
