National Grid's Graduate Development Program (GDP) is a year-long development program for recent college graduates who aspire to take on future leadership roles in a dynamic, ever-changing industry. Graduates will shape the future of National Grid. Bringing fresh thinking, new perspectives, and exploring with energy, we'll give you real responsibility and an opportunity to move with purpose from day one - putting the power to supercharge your career in your hands.

Graduates start their careers at National Grid with an in-depth 3-week in-person Orientation which gives you exposure to all parts of the company, allows you to network with your Graduate cohort, GDP alumni, and senior leaders, and provides you with the opportunity to travel throughout our service territory in the northeast US. Following Orientation, you'll begin working in full-time position outlined below and take part in ongoing development activities including quarterly development sessions, active mentorship, and a Hackathon Project.

About the Position

As an Associate Supervisor for Customer Meter Services, you will provide support for the supervision of a customer meter services team, ensuring safety and compliance for your team and the continuous flow of energy to the communities we serve. With the guidance of senior supervisors, you will have the opportunity to learn the scope of the electric system and meter reading as well as the skills necessary to lead your team. In this highly dynamic role, you will provide both administrative support in the office and hands-on support to the crews in the field.

This is an on-site role based in Worcester, Massachusetts.

What You'll Do

As an Associate Supervisor for Customer Meter Services, you will have the important task of responding to storms and electrical emergencies and providing support to keep the power on in your community.

You will:

  • Drive performance of diverse staff including issues relating to sickness, discipline, and poor standards of work to ensure that work is carried out efficiently and effectively.
  • Contribute to the protection and safety of the public and organizational personnel by ensuring that employee personal protective equipment, tools, and materials meet National Grid safety policies and standards.
  • Ensure work is performed in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
  • Respond to emergencies and coordinate with other Company emergency response personnel, Emergency Response Agencies, Regulators, and the Police.
  • Complete all mandated work within regulatory guidelines and address related union issues.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited institution

  • Graduated between May 2024 and June 2025

  • Ability to begin the National Grid Graduate Program on June 2, 2025 or July 7, 2025

  • Valid driver's license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid's Safe Driver policy

  • Applicants for the Graduate Development Program must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States (such as sponsorship for an H-1B, TN, O, L, STEM OPT, or other employment-based work authorization)

Salary Range
Worcester, Massachusetts $82,000 - $96,000 a year (Overtime Eligible)


Please note US Colleagues must reside within our existing footprint, which includes Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island and Vermont. As a National Grid employee, you should also reside within a reasonable, commutable distance to your assigned primary office.

As such, the Company's testing programs and policies regarding the use of federally prohibited drugs or alcohol, for recreational or medical purposes, will remain in effect for these safety-sensitive, DOT covered positions.
