Description:You will be an Infrared Sensor Systems Integration and Test Engineer for the Santa Barbara Focalplane business. Our diverse team, for more than 30 years, has been changing the way we see the world, pushing the envelope of IR technology and harnessing waves of light to make the invisible visible.

What You Will Be Doing

As an Infrared Sensor Systems Integration and Test Engineer, you will be supporting 4-5 major programs in production along with 20+ programs in development stages, handling a broad scope of engineering work and technical opportunities.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Responsible for operating and testing infrared focal plane arrays and performing analysis on collected data
* Operation of computer frame grabbers and test electronics
* Generation of test plans
* Troubleshooting electronic test boards and performing electronic design
* Work in a team environment to coordinate and direct test and systems related activities
* Lead projects and mentor other Engineers

The Locale: Goleta is a city in southern Santa Barbara County, California. Goleta is part of the central coast region of California and offers lots of great scenery and is a great place to live and to raise a family. The region is known primarily for agriculture and tourism. Major crops include wine grapes, lettuce, strawberries, and artichokes. Goleta is known for being near the University of California, Santa Barbara campus, although the CDP of Isla Vista is closer. Much of Goleta is considered to be a quiet suburban community while Santa Barbara tends to attract most of the tourists and the area's residents. Goleta is about 8 miles west of the city of Santa Barbara, along the coast (the coast runs east to west in this portion of southern California).
Basic Qualifications:
* Experience coding in a scripting language to include any of the following: MATLAB, C, C++, SQL, Java, HTML, or Python
* Hands on experience designing or testing in a laboratory setting
* Focal plane manufacturing or testing experience
* Project Management experience (project planning; team leadership, or working with budgetary estimates

* Experience with testing any variety of imaging photo-detector products (Infrared, Visible, UV, Gamma, LIDAR, LADAR)* Active DoD Secret or Top Secret Clearance

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $118,100 - $226,400. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

Pay Rate:
