Job Title: Inventory Control Clerk
Reports To: Inventory Control Manager
SUMMARY
Handle, verify, record, and prepare items for inventory, receiving, and shipping functions. Is a focus person, a go to person, for the facility to work, for the movement and control of inventory.
QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Education and/or Experience - High School diploma or equivalent, and three years experience in a related inventory control environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
Shipping
- Assembles wooden, cardboard, or other types of containers or selects preassembled containers.
- Inserts, packs, seals, secures items into containers in such a way to prevent damage to items during shipment.
- Stamps, stencil, or glue identifying information, custom markings, and / or shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
- Interface positively and effectively with manufacturing ERP systems, intercompany departments, customers, shipping companies, packing companies, or other related companies / applications / organizations.
- Maintains proper inventory levels of shipping materials and supplies.
- Operates power forklift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving areas to storage or work areas.
Receiving
- Review and verify incoming shipments against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, shortages, overages, etc. Corresponds with and resolves issues with Ametek Purchasing and / or suppliers.
- Performs effectively all transactions necessary in the ERP system
- Submit pack slips, invoices, etc. to accounting for processing.
Put-away
- Delivers goods to internal departments.
- Re-stock items as necessary
- Troubleshoot, root-causes, and corrects any part shortage problems.
Picking
- Pick parts as scheduled / required by ERP system demands or other demands.
Kitting
- Transact parts picked from inventory in manufacturing ERP system.
- Reconcile physical inventory count / ERP count discrepancies, with root-cause and corrective action.
Cycle Counting
- Count and reconcile inventory on an assigned basis, performing root-cause and corrective action of discrepancies found during the cycle count process (physical vs ERP system count).
Physical Inventory
- Count and reconcile inventory on a yearly basis, being a major focus person in the physical inventory process for all areas counted.
General
- Must follow all safety policy and procedures.
- Must always follow good housekeeping practices including 5S .
- Must strive to meet and exceed inventory accuracy requirements set forth by the company.
- Must work well in a team environment and work well with others.
- Must strive to meet on-time delivery requirements set forth by the company.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physically mobile, must be able to lift, twist, stand, bend, within a manufacturing area setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
