Beacon Hill Legal is seeking an IP Legal Secretary for an international law firm in Austin, TX. The firm has a focus on technology and life sciences, energy, financial, real estate and construction sectors. The IP Legal Secretary will provide comprehensive secretarial support to attorneys and patent agents in the Intellectual Property Practice Group. This opportunity is hybrid (one day remote), full-time, and direct hire.

Primary Responsibilities:

Create templates for Office Action responses, prepare and electronically file responses, and assist with other submissions and documents required by the USPTO; maintain electronic files
Review timekeeper docket reports and maintain docket notes to keep IP timekeepers informed of upcoming deadlines and their status.
Report communications from the USPTO to attorneys and clients
Research, generate, and update case status reports and IP schedules
Access and research various patent databases
Open new matters, screen calls and emails
Handle travel arrangements
Review and edit client bills, process expense reports, submit check requests, process invoices

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years' of legal secretarial experience in patent prosecution and/or intellectual property
Thorough understanding of USPTO rules and regulations, and the filing procedures for all aspects of U.S. and international patent prosecution
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat at an advanced level
Bachelor's degree preferred
