NOTE: This Role is for the SECOND SHIFT with the standard operating hours from 4:00 pm to 1:00 am.
The Logistics & Raw Material Supervisor is responsible for all raw materials, warehouse, shipping, logistics, and inventory management functions to include but not limited to, labor scheduling, storing, shipping, space management/cycle counting and housekeeping. Manage logistics and raw material personnel to attain high degree of safety and efficiency. The Logistics and Raw Material Supervisor will be responsible for managing the forklift fleet, plant-wide. This position reports directly to the Warehouse Manager.
- Responsible for daily operations across 2 warehouse locations (Peachtree City, GA and Newnan, Ga) and must be able to travel between sites, as necessary.
- Directing activities pertaining to material management, forklift issues, equipment problems, truck loading, truck traffic, housekeeping, cycle counting, inventory management, fleet inspections, and management of logistics and raw material crew member's daily activities.
- Assure all facilities, inside and out, are operational and functioning for efficiency and safety through the implementation of 5S
- Knowledge of cycle count procedures and how it can affect inventory and all warehouse/raw material functions.
- Manage time & attendance records, & disciplinary issues of logistics crew.
- Ensure safe environment to all employees, contractors, and visitors through full crew compliance with EHS policies and regulations
- Responsible for ensuring personnel are trained in the safe and efficient performance of their duties.
- Follows plant guidelines to develop others and promote a strong work environment.
- Responsible to deliver continuous improvement through the Customer Focus and Service WCM Pillar KPIs
- Flexibility to adjust department operations as required to meet customer requirements and dynamic business conditions.
- Assist in the analysis of issues and develop recommendations for corrective action.
- Manages warehouse layout and material handling practices to assure efficient use of space and on-time, damage free delivery.
- Report all EH&S incidents - Injuries/Recordables, Near Misses, First Aid, Environmental and Property/Equipment Damage to your Supervisor and via safety reporting software
- Participate in Incident & Near Miss Investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions.
- Participate in the development, understanding and review of all position job safety assessments and standard operating procedures.
- May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Required Qualifications
What do you bring?
- 2-year degree preferred (equivalent experience may be considered).
- 3+ years of supervisory experience (manufacturing/warehouse environment preferred).
- Proficient in use of MS Office (familiarity with Kronos and SAP a plus).
- General understanding of ISO methodology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, WCM, and 5S a plus.
