Position Summary

The Manager of Enterprise Technical and Compliance Training is responsible for all technical and compliance training that is offered at an enterprise level to all MAC employees. This position serves as the central point of contact for technical and compliance trainers who provide department-specific training. This position will play a lead role in the selection and implementation of a new enterprise Learning Management System and will be the primary administrator of that system. This position is responsible for sourcing content for the development of technical and compliance training and assisting with the execution of that training within the new LMS.  This position will also assist as needed with leadership and supervisory development and engagement programs and will play a supporting role in the development of performance management and team building skills of managers, including supporting the selection and administration of performance management software.  Working with the Supervisor of HR Administration, the incumbent will be responsible for revamping the current new employee orientation program and will lead an initiative to explore expanding that program into a more robust onboarding process.  This position will also assist with the planning, scheduling, and set-up of some classroom-based professional development training sessions and support the administration of bi-annual employee engagement survey including the roll-out of a new survey platform.  This position will also become familiar with the MAC recognition program and provide support to the program as needed.

Position Description

Learning Management System Administration and Enterprise Governance

  • Assist in the selection and maintain the new Learning Management System (LMS), including uploading new HR and MAC-wide compliance and technical content, assigning courses, tracking course completion, troubleshooting with end users, and serving as the system subject-matter-expert for departments that have technical or compliance related training needs.   
  • Lead the Enterprise Learning Governance Committee to ensure training initiatives in all MAC departments are strategically aligned, resources are optimized, and learning outcomes are achieved. 
 Training 
  • Oversee the development and delivery of MAC-wide compliance and technical training in coordination with subject matter experts in other departments including but not limited to IT, Police, Operations, and Safety departments.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, feedback and performance metrics.
  • Coordinate resources from throughout the MAC to provide training in the most efficient and effective means possible. 
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to design and develop training programs to combine technical expertise with adult learning theory
  • Select and design the ideal training method or activity for the specific audience (online, role playing, mentoring, on the job training, professional development classes, etc.)
  • Support a culture of learning by providing sustainable and consistent training and development programs and processes throughout the MAC that will promote employee growth
  • On occasion, facilitate portions of Principles of Supervision and the Supervisory Skills Development training programs 
New Employee Orientation and Onboarding
  • Convene a cross-departmental group to develop and update a more expansive onboarding program that goes beyond New Employee Orientation to meet the needs of the organization and our new employees
  • Ensure new hires have the necessary information, tools, access, and resources to begin their roles effectively
  • Create and maintain onboarding materials, such as handbooks, guides, and digital resources
  • With the HR Supervisor, facilitate and revamp new employee orientation sessions that introduce MAC history, purpose and values, key policies, and employee benefits 
  • Monitor the effectiveness of new employee orientation and onboarding program through feedback and performance metrics
Employee Engagement Survey Support
  • Coordinate and schedule engagement survey-related presentations, training sessions, and meetings and provided other support as needed to ensure a smooth transition to the new survey platform throughout the organization.
Administration
  • Support administration of performance management software, including monitoring completion rate of performance reviews, generating reports and training new employees how to use software
  • Develop annual HR training calendar and update information on Training & Development page and Manager's Toolkit page on SharePoint   
  • Prepare equipment, materials, and supplies for some classroom-based training sessions

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 
    • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Training & Development, Business Administration or a related field. 
    • Three years of experience administering, maintaining, and troubleshooting a LMS platform (e.g. Cornerstone, Workday Learning, SAP, Success Factors, Moodle).
    • Five years of experience designing, organizing and delivering employee training programs
    • In lieu of a bachelor's degree, a two-year degree in a related field and five years of experience administering, maintaining, and troubleshooting a LMS platform (e.g. Cornerstone, Workday Learning, SAP, Success Factors, Moodle).
    • In lieu of a post-secondary education, seven years of experience administering, maintaining, and troubleshooting a LMS platform (e.g. Cornerstone, Workday Learning, SAP, Success Factors, Moodle).
    • Experience working with LMS vendors ensuring organization's learning platform needs are met 
    • Experience developing and applying metrics to measure effectiveness of program implementation
    • Excellent facilitation skills with thorough knowledge of group dynamics and group process
    • Excellent consulting skills with demonstrated leadership, influencing and negotiating abilities at all levels of the organization
    • Self-starter who has ability to work independently, collaboratively and virtually in a flexible, communicative manner.
    • Customer service and results oriented with ability to set and manage multiple priorities using strong project and stakeholder management skills.
    • Intermediate skill level using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
    • Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle to commute between job sites
    • Willing to adjust work hours on occasion to train employees on various shifts  
     
    DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
    • Master's degree in human resource management, HRD, organizational development, or related field
    • Experience implementing and/or managing an enterprise-wide training program
    • Advanced technological skill using learning management systems
    • Experience using Articulate software to design interactive, online training courses and presentations 
    • Experience designing web pages using SharePoint software
    • Experience interpreting Clifton Strengths (StrengthsFinder) assessments
