Job Summary:
The Pasta Cook will perform a variety of tasks including cooking rice or pasta using prepared formulas, assembling machine parts, reviewing requisitions and batch sheets, performing sheer tests and yield tests on pasta ensuring target specifications required numbers are met, inspection of work environment including equipment adjustments, ensuring good housekeeping and 5S standards are met.
Starting pay up to $22.52per hour + Attendance Bonus! ($0.50 for first shift and $0.60 for second shift)
You will be onsite at the facility located in Council Bluffs, Iowa. As a pasta cook, you will report to the operations team.
You Will:
- Work the scheduled/assigned times and required overtime for position
- Read, write, communicate, and comprehend written instructions in English
- Work individually or with others as a team at all levels
- Intermediate math skills
- Basic knowledge of computers including email
- Push or pull up to 50 lbs. repetitively
- Be HACCP Certified, PIT Certified, and LOTO Certified
- Work in a hot humid environment
Job Responsibilities:
- Communicate with production leads on pasta/rice quality, amount needed, and timing
- Check equipment before use to ensure setup is complete
- Assemble cleaned machine parts and set controls to proper pasta mix settings
- Review requisition and batch sheets to ensure all items and quantities received are correct
- Perform daily scale audits
- Verify temperatures, ratios, and set points match the batch sheet
- Perform pasta sheer tests and yield tests ensuring they meet target specifications and required numbers
- Complete daily centerline matrix
- Clean machine parts, tools, utensils and work area
- Ensure good housekeeping and 5S standards are met
- Complete all required paperwork, including SSOP and SOP
- Perform sanitary checks on equipment to be used
- May perform general labor tasks as assigned
You Have:
- Knowledge of GMP's and food allergens
- To identify Critical Control Points (CCP)
- Read a thermometer
- Knowledge of the 5S concept
- Mechanical aptitude
- Work with pork, chicken, beef and shellfish products in addition to many other ingredients and allergens
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Experience Required: Minimum 3 months production or related experience
