JOB TITLE: Production Worker I – 2nd Shift
DEPARTMENT: Production
REPORTS TO: Bottling Supervisor
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Compensation Range: $18 - $20 an hour

SUMMARY: The Production Worker must follow all plant safety, Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety rules and regulations. Documentation and paperwork procedures must be followed as well as verbal and / or written instructions and guidelines according to the job requirements. The Production Worker is responsible for feeding and / or loading packaging materials to the production line, verifying quality standards, stacking cases onto pallets, and maintaining good housekeeping.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
• Record & count bundles/ cases of containers provided to the production line
• Unwrap and unstack cases of empty bottles and distribute to the dumping process
• Communicate container needs with forklift driver
• Inspect quality standards, stop production for quality or food safety issues as needed
• Dump empty containers to the filling process.
• Maintain supply of caps, bags, boxes, and box parts
• Operate and tend the case maker, case packer, case coder, and case sealing equipment
• Must have basic computer skills to work with code equipment and inspection equipment
• Palletize cases from the conveyor line, wrap and secure pallets as needed
• Maintain counts of cases produced to ensure the production plan is achieved
• Assist with package changeovers
• Use safety cutters and hand tools
• Maintain an organized, sanitary, and safety work area
EDUCATION:
• High School diploma or G.E.D. required
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy required.
• Interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required.
• Must be respectful and work well with all levels of personnel.
• Must be able to be flexible to work overtime, weekends and different shifts and at times with short notice
• Continuous mental and visual attention is required to perform duties involving repetitive or diversified work requiring constant alertness or activity
• Frequent lifting up to 50lbs.
• Ability to read (in English), write (in English), add and subtract
• Ability to work in high temperatures (hot or cold), working at heights and exposure to strong smells, dust, gases, fumes and chemical or require personal protective equipment.
• Ability to use Personal Protective Equipment.
