Full Job Description

The Program Coordinator, Detroit Regional Workforce Partnership, provides administrative and process support of the Foundation's effort to facilitate a regional workforce initiative. This position is funded by a grant from the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation through January 2026. As the DRWP team expands its work, it is anticipated that the term of the position will be extended past the first term.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as administrative support for the Executive Director and the DRWP team
  • Acts as lead administrative coordinator in establishing the DRWP's governing bodies
  • Recommend and implement administrative processes and procedures in coordination with the Executive Director and Sr. Director of Strategy & Operations
  • Maintain records necessary for reporting, compliance, and continuous improvement
  • Work with the team in meeting preparation, participation in stakeholder meetings, and writing meeting minutes or summaries
  • Write reports, develop presentations, and create other print materials as needed
  • Act as the liaison with internal CFSEM teams and external partners in line with the responsibilities of the position
  • Assist with other aspects of the initiative, including administrative and operational support as needed
  • Develop and maintain relationships with similarly aligned staff across program and employer partners
  • Participate in meetings and collaborative efforts with local, statewide, and national partners
  • Assist with funding requests, including gathering information and co-writing grant proposals, at the direction of the ED
  • Represent the Community Foundation at external meetings and events as needed
  • Learn and utilize Community Foundation systems for grants management and project management, as needed
  • Coordinate efforts with other staff to implement the Foundation's workforce initiatives
  • Local travel may be required

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in workforce, education, public administration, or related fields
  • High degree of organization, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
  • Proven project coordination experience, prioritizing multiple projects within tight deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of workforce, employer engagement, human capital management, or related fields preferred
  • Excellent writing skills including the ability to draft and edit high quality written materials
  • Excellent verbal communication skills including collaboration and problem solving
  • Demonstrated commitment to and experience with the application of diversity, equity and inclusion practices within projects or programs
  • Computer proficiency in all Microsoft applications

  • The Community Foundation also offers a pension retirement program after 1 year of service which contributes 10% of salary.
