Registered Nurse - Oncology Infusion
Ashville, North Carolina
MUST:
Registered Nurse, licensed in the State of North Carolina.
Experience with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital is required.
Ability to assess patient needs and condition is essential. Must have strong critical thinking skills, as well as the ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Current CPR & BLS certifications are required.
DUTIES:
Safely and accurately mix and administer chemotherapeutic agents to patients as ordered by Company physicians.
Will use standards and guidelines.
Accurate and safe disposal of biohazardous waste, per OSHA and HRS guidelines.
Responsible for on going patient assessment.
Documentation: Thorough and accurate documentation in OncoEMR of treatment rendered to patients. Ensure appropriate charges are captured by following guidelines for appropriate administration of all medications.
Telephone triage: Includes prioritizing incoming calls and messages from patients, family members, hospitals, nursing facilities, pharmacies and physician offices from emergent to non-urgent.
Must respond accordingly in an appropriate time frame.
