Your Opportunity as the Sanitation Manager
Maintain integrity of product quality and safety by ensuring that all bakery equipment, structural and storage facilities, and depots are sanitary and following Current Good Manufacturing Processes, Federal, State, and local food protection standards, and Hostess Brands corporate programs to produce safe quality food for consumers.
Location: 2035 N Narragansett Ave, Chicago, IL 60639 (Hostess Manufacturing Plant)
Work Arrangements: 100% on-site, Day Shift (flexibility required)
In this role you will:
Manage, evaluate, motivate, and direct sanitation initiatives for Plant Sanitation supervision and crew.
Ensure compliance with corporate standards and systems to monitor food safety, and facility cleanliness.
Work planning, organization, and execution of monitoring and maintaining compliance to the sanitation budget.
Inspect, monitor, and educate, departments regarding food safety and sanitary conditions within the facility.
Promote safety through work procedures, orderly work environments, and employee safety programs.
Ensure compliance with contractual and labor relations issues.
Promote Company EEO policies, and other local work policies.
General knowledge of equipment used in bakeries and depots for production, storage, and transfer of products.
Knowledge and understanding of cleaning practices for that equipment.
Setting and Achieving Goals - Successfully coach, train, and communicate with people to ensure sanitation goals are achieved.
Strong planning and organizational skills.
Employee communications and motivation skills.
Understanding of environment, HVAC, and safety.
Working knowledge of HACCP (hazard analysis critical control points).
Understands allergens and mold issues.
Knowledge and understanding of food manufacturing pest control regulations and requirements.
Empowerment, Collaboration, Motivation, and Enthusiasm - supervisory skills; demonstrate leadership by influencing others in implementing sanitation programs through effective communication, individual technical knowledge, and training.

What we are looking for:
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required - Bachelor's degree or higher preferred
Minimum of 6 years of sanitation experience in a food manufacturing environment
Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience
Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:
Personal Computer Skills - Familiar with MS Excel, Word, and power point
Experience in scheduling, training, and directing crews.
Knowledge and experience in the proper and safe use of sanitation chemicals. Certification in chemicals is a plus.
Knowledge of AIB (American Institute of Baking), regulatory bodies (FDA, USDA, Department of Ag), and BRC or similar standard inspection procedures.
Understanding and knowledge of SSOP's, LOTO, GMP's, Programs and Policies regarding food manufacturing sanitation.
