In this role, you will be a champion for employee satisfaction, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of essential HR processes. Responsibilities:

• Conduct quality reviews of payroll processing completed by Payroll Specialists and Senior Specialists.
• Manage the pay cycle process, including verification, calculation, and previewing.
• Administer garnishment orders.
• Interpret internal and external payroll, time, and labor laws, policies, and procedures to maintain compliance in a large, multi-state employer environment.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR, payroll, and time policies and practices.
• Perform and review payroll calculations for retroactive adjustments, leaves, terminations, and other exceptions.
• Manage pay cycle batch data input for miscellaneous payments, deductions, and tax withholdings.
• Audit data interfaced from the HR system to the payroll system, including salary and tax information.
• Maintain accurate payroll and timekeeping records according to established standards.
• Conduct payroll cycle audits and reconciliations to ensure accuracy.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent with 5+ years of experience in payroll.
• Experience working with a large, multi-state employer.
• Experience processing garnishments.
• Extensive payroll and time system knowledge.
• Proficiency in multi-state tax calculations.
• Expertise in calculating short-term disability, including offsets.
• Experience with overpayment calculation and recovery.
• Proficiency in salary prorations.
• Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel.
• Ability to maintain a physical in-office presence.
• Flexibility to accommodate employees on the West Coast.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) and/or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC).
• Specific payroll platform experience.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $32.40 to $36.00 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
