National Grid is hiring a Senior Security Analyst. This position offers remote flexibility, with the requirement that candidates reside in one of the following states: New York (NY), New Jersey (NJ), Massachusetts (MA), Connecticut (CT), Vermont (VT), Rhode Island (RI), Maine (ME), or New Hampshire (NH).
Job Purpose
The Senior Security Analyst serves as a knowledge resource inside National Grid's US Customer business, assists in the analysis and determination of risk, supports security design and implementation for critical business projects, and helps connect stakeholders to critical security functions.
Working closely with the business, project teams, and architects, the Senior Security Analyst will ensure solutions comply with regulatory and security controls requirements. You will combine excellent customer relationship skills, knowledge of security best practices, and a practical approach to real-world risk reduction.
Key Accountabilities
* Understand Grid's current security requirements, architectures, and patterns; apply them to ensure solutions are secure by design.
* Protect sensitive data at rest and in transit.
* Evaluate vendors and products for security capabilities.
* Communicate with stakeholders to share and prioritize security risks.
* Engage with project teams and architects to review security matters, suggest options, help refine designs, and ensure regulatory standards are met.
* Ensure any residual risk is captured and documented.
Knowledge and Capabilities
Security Technology & Services
* Familiarity with security frameworks and industry best practices.
* Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and data security issues.
* Knowledge of security solutions including firewalls, encryption, data protection, and secure file transfers.
* Basic understanding of data privacy regulations and their impact on organizations.
* Understanding of security testing processes: SAST (Static Application Security Testing), DAST (Dynamic Application Security Testing), Vulnerability Assessments, penetration testing, etc.
Collaborative Working
* Effective communication (written and verbal) and partnering skills.
* Prepared to ask challenging questions when needed in the interests of National Grid.
* Able to operate as an independent worker and as part of a strong team.
* Motivated to freely share knowledge, educate, and inform.
Qualifications
* Educated to degree level (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
* Information Security Certifications/Qualifications preferred but not necessary for this role.

Brooklyn: $119k - $140k a year
Waltham:$111k - $130k a year
This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
