Senior C++ Developer

Apex Systems is a global IT services provider, and our staffing practice has an opening for a 2 C++ Developer with exprience with C++ development on Linux, experience with performance tuning of SQL on relational database, and some exposure to financial domain to place at our client, a Big Bank.
Client: Big Bank
Terms: 12-month Contract
Location: Downtown Toronto – 3 times per week in office.

Our client is looking for 2 Senior C++ Developers to join the US Technology Securities team. The ideal candidate has significant practical experience in C development on Linux as well as SQL database development preferably Sybase. Familiarity with post-trade workflows such as trade booking and allocations would be a significant benefit
Responsibilities:

Development in C on Linux for a database-centric application
Working with our Product Owner and Product Manager to refine requirements provided from the Line of Business and Operations teams
Analyzing business requirements forming an architectural design development and testing and participating in production support

Key Qualifications:

10+ years experience in C development on Linux
Hands-on exposure to enhancing large scale database systems including writing SQL queries maintaining stored procedures and performance tuning
Automation first mindset across the software development lifecycle particularly around testing
Familiarity with Agile software development and associated best practices
Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical partners

Preferred Skills:

Direct experience developing on Sybase and related Sybase SDKs such as Open Server
Knowledge of post-trade workflows in the trading of Equity securities
Server and client side development in Java including Swing-based UIs
