At Lockheed Martin's Laser and Sensor Systems (L&SS) business, we're looking for an Engineering Manager with a passion for lasers to lead our Engineering & Technology (E&T) team. Lockheed Martin L&SS delivers innovative laser solutions for defense, aerospace, and industrial markets. THE WORK
In this role, you will:
* Lead the Laser and Sensor Systems functional organization based in Bothell, WA with additional oversight responsibility for staff in Akron, OH.
* Provide technical, programmatic, and administrative leadership to 8 first level managers and their associated groups with a span of control of approximately 150 engineers.
* Direct teams to ensure successful implementation of product requirements for multiple programs within the IWSS Line of Business.
* Oversee the design, development, documentation, and testing of laser products and ensure that the appropriate standards, processes, procedures throughout the development life cycle are followed.
* Lead the creation and maintenance of staffing plans, coordination of staffing forecasts, and recruiting as required to ensure the proper skill and level mix for the center.
* Participate in the formulation and execution of technical strategy and will support new business pursuits via proposal generation, Internal Research and Development planning, development of technical baselines and customer presentations.
* Work closely with cross functional integrated management teams that will span all Lockheed Martin RMS lines of business.
Note: This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

The Locale: Bothell is a suburb of Seattle and offers lots of restaurants, coffee shops, and parks. Many families and young professionals live in Bothell and the public schools in Bothell are highly rated. Bothell is home to Cascadia Community College and the University of Washington, Bothell. Neighboring Woodinville, WA is known as a premier destination in the Pacific Northwest with a large wine and vineyard industry and over 100 tasting rooms. Where can you get to from Bothell? Seattle is about 25 minutes to the south. Portland, OR is just over three hours to the south. Vancouver, BC is just over two hours to the north.
Basic Qualifications:
* BS in STEM related field
* Minimum of 10 years of directly relevant professional experience
* Proven leader with domain expertise in hardware development in areas of directed energy and infrared counter-measures (IRCM), including all sub-domains which are directly applicable to this product area
* Demonstrated competence in managing cross-disciplinary teams and strong understanding of engineering processes along with the hardware engineering product life cycle.
* U.S Citizen with ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance
Desired Skills:
* Advanced technical degree.
* Proven engineering leader with experience managing products throughout the entire life cycle, ensuring disciplined design practices are applied. Experience in driving design for producibility, affordability and reliability are highly desired.
* The candidate must have excellent organizational skills, interpersonal skills and be able to communicate at both programmatic and technical levels with subordinates, senior management levels and the customer.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $140,400 - $269,100. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
