Designs and develops web applications using Java/Spring MVC, Spring Core, Spring Boot, Angular, and Node JS. Builds and supports server-side technical components using REST Application Program Interfaces (APIs) and back-end SQL/Stored Procedure Components. Supports the performance tuning of software applications using Datadog and Splunk. Uses cloud technologies - Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure -- and containerization tools -- Docker and Kubernetes -- to deploy 12-factor compliant, cloud-ready Application Program Interfaces (APIs). Builds automation pipelines by leveraging DevOps concepts and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools such as Git, Bitbucket/Stash, Jenkins, and uDeploy.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
- Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
- Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
- Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
- Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
- Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
- Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
- Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
- Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
- Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Full Stack Engineer (or closely related occupation) designing and developing web applications using Java/Spring MVC, Spring Core, Spring Boot, Angular, and Node JS in the financial services environment.
Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Full Stack Engineer (or closely related occupation) designing and developing web applications using Java/Spring MVC, Spring Core, Spring Boot, Angular, and Node JS in the financial services environment.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
- Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") working in a complex financial data ecosystem designing, developing, and testing Java and J2EE applications and Webservices (SOAP and RESTful); performing Object-oriented design, using MVC and Microservices design patterns -- Spring Boot framework, IDE toolset (Eclipse, IntelliJ, or STS), Bitbucket/Stash repositories source control, and Maven dependency manager; and performing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) on Unix and Linux Virtual Machines using Jenkins, Artifactory, and uDeploy.
- DE developing API's in an Agile environment to integrate with financial system, using object oriented patterns, Java design patterns, Spring MVC, Spring Core, Spring Boot frameworks, Oracle, and SQL Developer; designing system diagrams using UML; and running application on Apache and Tomcat servers.
- DE deploying and supporting high availability applications with large number of users and concurrency using Kubernetes, and Microsoft Azure; defining application observability, using DataDog, Splunk, and Dynatrace; implementing application monitors and alerts; performing distributed tracing using DataDog; implementing DevOps and building Continuous Integration (CI) testing practices through CI/Continuous Delivery pipelines (CD), using Jenkins, Artifactory, GitHub, and Azure DevOps Services.
- DE designing, building, and maintaining responsive financial UI applications, using JavaScript frameworks, JQuery, Node.js, Handlebar JS, AJAX, Express, and Bootstrap CSS; performing unit and functional testing for API and Selenium IDE/Jest User Interfaces (UIs), using Junit and Mockito; analyzing and designing Object Oriented applications, using Angular UI, REST Services, Spring Boot, JPA, HTML/CSS, and Apache Camel; and writing SQL queries and stored procedures.
