About the Team

The Customer Experience (Marketing) team works to showcase our brand through the lens of expertise and love. They work to provide a personalized experience for our consumers backed by best-in-class, data-driven marketing capabilities. The Customer Experience team focuses across 4 departments including, Marketing, Creative, Communications, and our Loyalty & CRM team. Everyone brings their own point of view to create a unique experience for the pets and pet parents.


About the Location

Hybrid Position:

This position may be considered Hybrid based on PetSmart’s FlexSmart policy and business needs. A Hybrid work arrangement is considered to be a blend of onsite and remote work activity. Associates with a Hybrid work arrangement have a work space at Phoenix Home Office and can be required to come onsite between 1-5 days a week as determined by leadership and based on business needs.


About the Job

Specialist, CRM and Personalized Marketing

Our Loyalty and Personalization team is looking for talented marketing individuals who are passionate about pets, are highly detail-oriented, enjoy identifying and implementing process optimizations and are relentlessly unsatisfied with the status quo.

We are seeking a CRM Specialist of Personalized Marketing—reporting to a Manager of Personalized Marketing—to help support the strategy and deployment of CRM campaigns across multiple channels, including email, SMS, push and in-app notifications. You will be instrumental in assisting with a variety of responsibilities including, but not limited to, monthly campaign calendar curation, development of campaign request forms, coordinating email planning sessions and initiating promotional offer set-up. Your work will help drive the company’s revenue growth and you will be part of an expanding team who will quickly become one of the largest growth initiatives for PetSmart.

What You’ll Do:

  • Coordinate and participate in monthly calendar planning
  • Participate in strategy working sessions, providing ideas and recommendations
  • Create and implement email campaign strategy briefs in collaboration with various stakeholders
  • Prepare on-going campaign request forms for email campaigns, providing all the necessary information to our development team, including copy, legal disclaimers and URLs
  • Monitor and manage various project tasks in Workfront to ensure campaigns remain on schedule
  • Collaborate with Manager of Personalized Marketing to recommend targeting criteria for various campaigns and articulate instructions to database management team
  • Orchestrate the set-up of in-store and online promotional offers and generate coupon creative assets
  • Review email campaign intake forms ensuring a high-level of accuracy and completeness in advance of project turn-in
  • Maintain weekly campaign reports and assist with our hypothesis-driven test and learn initiative by inputting the results from various campaign tests and working with Manager of Personalized Marketing to interpret share results with internal and external teams
  • Assist with the preparation of various PowerPoint presentations and Excel reports as required

What You Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Marketing, Merchandising, Business or other relevant path
  • Minimum two years of relevant marketing experience
  • Previous experience in CRM including email, SMS or mobile push preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail and bias for customer-centric planning
  • Strong organizational skills and able to prioritize tasks and project timelines as necessary
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly
  • Strong collaboration and relationship-builder, both internally and externally, with outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter, initiative-taker
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
