Maintenance Leaders provide technical leadership for readiness, preventive and corrective maintenance, mission technician coverage and system/equipment troubleshooting support, including restoration of equipment and systems to specification for all systems at SCSC including Legacy and COTS systems, interfaces, fiber infrastructure, 3M Program and cable infrastructure.
Additional duties/responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Technical Leadership in coordinating corrective and preventive maintenance and micro-miniature (2M) repair to maintain combat system readiness. All maintenance will be in accordance with the Navy Maintenance Material Management (3M) system utilizing SKED with the goal of achieving 100 percent equipment availability and systems maintained to shipboard standard. Provide on-the-job training to the Navy members of the integrated maintenance team. Prepare and implement quarterly maintenance schedules as approved by the Government Combat System Maintenance Officer.
Provide on-site maintenance support personnel during all operational shifts and mission events to match expected customer agency workloads and quality of service expectations, maintenance requirements to maintain readiness, and essential real time troubleshooting of scheduled systems and equipment.
Supervise/perform personnel and maintenance tasks to include cable fabrication, repair and installation (including fiber optic cable); cable removal; equipment overhaul and refurbishment; tactical electrical power connection and repair; and tactical cooling plumbing connection and repair, equipment foundation fabrication, and heavy weather preparation and recovery. Remove, ship, and replace SCSC equipment in support of Government requirements.
Plan and schedule maintenance to minimize systems and equipment downtime to maximize mission support, while still maintaining high system availability and also meeting planned maintenance schedules.
Promptly report the status of systems and equipment that are not functioning properly and have the potential to impact customer events. Provide a summary to the Government each day on the current status of all major systems, the results from the previous day of the systems, equipment, and services provided to customer events, and the plans to correct problems with systems, equipment, or service. Investigate and report on any mission event that failed to meet any customer objectives to include root cause analysis.
Provide detailed failure reporting, analysis and corrective action taken in accordance with MIL-HDBK-2155 or best business practices to provide management visibility and control for reliability and maintainability improvement of hardware and associated software. Use failure and maintenance data to generate and implement effective corrective actions to prevent failure recurrence and to simplify or reduce the maintenance tasks.
Implement processes to account for and keep tools, test equipment and work spaces in an efficient, safe and clean manner. |
Required Education, Experience, & Skills Typical education and relevant years of work experience: High School/GED and at least 7 years experience in maintenance management of shipboard combat systems equipment. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and schedule personnel to support maintenance tasks across mission facilities and make recommendations for troubleshooting, workarounds, or corrective actions. 3M PQS 301 Maintenance Qualification is preferred, if selected candidate is not qualified by start date, he/she will be required to become qualified within first three months of employment
Security clearance requirement: Active Secret security clearance preferred but will consider candidates who are eligible to obtain and maintain a final DoD Secret security clearance. If selected candidate does not have an active clearance, he/she will receive a contingent offer letter and a delayed start date until an interim Secret security clearance is granted.

Knowledge of and experience with 3M system, SKED, CSESS, PDL ACCESS and TRMS.
Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $68700 - $116800
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
