BAE Systems in Huntsville Alabama (HAL) is seeking candidates to join our growing Systems Engineering Team working on state of the art missile sensors and seeker systems within the Precision Guidance and Sensing Solutions (PGSS) Product Line in the Precision Strike (PS) Business Area. In Huntsville, our HAL Engineering team is working in a modern building and operating in a unique environment where we have the power and resources of BAE Systems behind us while working in a dynamic and flexible model with the feel of a start-up. Applicants should have strong Systems Engineering experience in multiple aspects of the Systems Engineering Lifecycle ranging from ConOps, Architecture, Design and Development, to Verification and Validation, and including Production, and Sustainment of Fielded Systems. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in Systems Engineering and Mechanical System Design/Analysis processes, practices, and tools. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have the technical and interpersonal skills necessary to guide a team in their Mechanical Systems objectives. Finally, the successful candidate must be a team player and have demonstrated experience in understanding Engineering processes in support of either Development or Production activities.
The role may also encompass the following Engineering duties:

Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it may take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely. However, primary work location is expected to be at the BAE Systems' Huntsville, AL facility. Travel is estimated at no more than 10%.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $115100 - $195700
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

- Daily collaboration with the project design and development teams as well the project management team
- Develop system ConOps, architectures, and models of complex sensor systems
- System/ Sub-System hardware and/or software design upgrade activities
- System product technical baseline implementation, assessment and control throughout Development and Production lifecycles by upholding system functional, performance, and interface requirements
- Supports system requirements allocations to Hardware, Software, and Test Engineering
- Provide monitoring of and representation of Customer's technical requirements & needs and manage requirements compliance assessment at the system level
- Ensure thorough and complete system requirements, management, traceability, verification and validation
- Lead or support system trade studies
- Supports system requirements derivation and performance analyses through modeling and simulation
- Perform, or support, comprehensive planning and execution of all Systems Engineering activities across the program(s)
- Supports creation of Systems Engineering Technical plans
- Supports Proposal development and Capture team activities

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Candidate must possess BS or higher in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or equivalent
- 8+ years relevant experience across multiple phases of the Systems Engineering product development lifecycle
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Motivated self-starter and problem solver with proven experience executing in diverse multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience leading technical projects or teams
- Advanced degree in Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent
- Expertise in sensor systems architecture, modeling, design and test, but particularly missile seekers
- Experience in weapons systems design, missile systems design, or weapons systems performance analysis
- Experience performing modal, random vibration, shock, and static analyses of structures, using state-of-the-art engineering development software tools
- Experience performing steady-state and transient heat transfer analyses, using state-of-the-art engineering development software tools
- Knowledge of and experience with MagicDraw, and associated Cameo plug-ins, building system models using MBSE methodologies, best practices and tools
- Experience covering all phases of the Systems Engineering product development lifecycle
- Experienced in one or more programming languages, for example MATLAB, Python, C/C++, Java
