Job Description:
Seeking a highly skilled Tier 2 SOC Analyst to join our team, supporting a very mission-focused customer within the Department of Defense (DoD). This is a technical role that requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles and hands-on experience with various security tools and platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyze security events and incidents using Cisco IPS, Palo Alto firewalls, and Splunk.
- Conduct searches, queries, and create dashboards in Splunk to manage and respond to security incidents.
- Understand and analyze the TCP handshake and computer communication protocols.
- Handle regular incident response activities and provide technical support for security operations.
- Work with Linux and Windows operating systems to ensure the security and integrity of the network.
Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI Clearance.
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) and Security+ CE certifications.
- Proficiency in using Splunk for security monitoring and incident response.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP protocols and network communication.
- Experience with Cisco IPS and Palo Alto firewalls.
Work Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, normal working hours.
Team Structure:
- 1-2 step team.
