Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative person to join our Real Estate Facility Management (REFM) group located at our Fremont, CA facility, as a Spring Co-Op. As a member of our group, you will employ your fundamental understanding of construction management for commercial manufacturing facilities and office spaces, in collaboration with other necessary technical support functions associated with the manufacturing processes of drug substances, to provide real-time response to site needs, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement for clinical and commercial scale operations.

This position offers an hourly rate of $20.00 - $33.00 USD / hr. commensurate to the level of degree program in which an applicant is actively enrolled. For an overview of our benefits please click here.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other team members in cross-functional teams to improve functionality and upkeep of the GxP-manufacturing site/facility
- Standardize training, generate SOPs and provide work instructions to assist with onboarding of new employees and equipment within the GFE Real Estate Facility Maintenance department
- Use data management & visualization software for process modeling and/or lifecycle asset management purposes (e.g., Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel w/ macros, Project, PowerPoint, PowerBI)
- Generate process maps, communication plans, detailed project schedules, and functional presentations for key restoration and upgrade projects identifying areas of critical improvement and opportunities for improving the useful lifetime of assets
Requirements
- Must be a current undergraduate, graduate or advanced degree student in good academic standing.
- Student must be enrolled at a college or university for the duration of the internship.
- Overall cumulative minimum GPA from last completed quarter/semester 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) preferred.
- Major or minor in related field of internship
- Undergraduate students must have completed at least 12 credit hours at current college or university.
- Graduate and advanced degree students must have completed at least 9 credit hours at current college or university.
Desired Experience, Skills and Abilities:
- BS or MS candidate in Mechanical Engineering, or related construction management field (i.e. Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management, etc)
- Fundamental grasp of construction and project management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PowerBI
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
- Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
- Must be 18 years of age or older
