The Opportunity
Grow your career as a successful Lifestyle Commercial VP within Hyatt's newly launched lifestyle division, driving guest and customer performance for some of the most exciting lifestyle brands in the industry. The VP will represent their portfolio at the appropriate industry forums and market events. Reporting to the SVP of Commercial Services, Americas the VP of Commercial Services partners with the respective leaders in Operations to deliver the hotel P&Ls, and interacts with senior operations and corporate leaders, across Sales, Distribution, Marketing, Digital, social media, Revenue Management and Market Intelligence. The Role
This NYC-based position will support the President & Creative Director, and two Managing Directors for the Hyatt Collective in driving hotel and divisional performance; attracting and retaining talent; and ensuring a best-in-class colleague culture. This role will report directly to the SVP of Commercial Services, Americas with a dotted line into senior leadership of the Hyatt Lifestyle Group. This role will be responsible for:
•Developing the annual Commercial Budget (revenues, ADR, Occupancies) and Marketing/Sales plans presented to and approved by hotel owners, in collaboration with hotel teams.
•Working with hotel leadership teams and your regional resources to understand regular results performance and trending and identify gaps to budget/forecast and develop plans accordingly to remedy.
•Participating as needed in Monthly and Quarterly Commercial results to the owner groups, working with the necessary stakeholders to pull together these presentations, and explaining the details (market environment, competitors, pricing, market penetration, etc.).
•Managing all regional leaders reporting to this org who will have direct liaison with hotel commercial teams. Grow and mentor these leaders to drive their career development.
•Coordination with the corporate commercial structure to leverage support and focus on the hotels in need from his/her region. This includes marketing, communications, and sales support from any of our global source markets, direct channels, travel agencies, groups, MICE, etc., and are additionally expected to be the communication channel from the hotels to all the Corporate Commercial structure to maintain the teams aligned and informed about any important news, changes to properties, situation, or event in destinations, etc.
•Providing input to all Commercial projections and internal team communications for new builds, take-overs, and material renovations to a hotel.
•Ability to be a well-rounded Commercial hospitality executive with experience and capabilities across all the functions listed above. The individual will have a proven ability to successfully commercialize a hotel portfolio, delivering on Budget by initiating new strategies & commercial programs. Demonstrated track record of achievement of annual budgets.
•Accountable for hiring, motivating, and leading the Commercial team members at each property.
•Delivering the Commercial results for all hotels in the Lifestyle portfolio.
•Developing and maintaining Owner relations for the effective communication of the strategies and results for the hotels in their region.
•Developing the strategy and annual revenue budgets for each resort and the overall region.
•Accountable for the detailed business plan to deliver the annual budgets for each hotel in their region.
•Lead and/or have active participation in different committees (Tourism Boards Airport Authorities’ and Hotel Associations relevant to hotel portfolio and customer base.)
•Oversee (directly or indirectly) the Commercial hotel opening task force for all hotel openings, including control of the full commercial checklist.
•Lead the Commercial presentations at Owner monthly and Board meetings.
•Oversee path to, and delivery against, all key commercial KPIs, including market share, loyalty growth and engagement, and direct channel contribution.
•Be an active part of the core leadership team for Hyatt’s lifestyle organization, driven to make Hyatt the brand of choice for customers and guests with a propensity for these products.
•Be a part of the Americas Commercial Leadership team, tasked with driving overall commercial performance for the hotels in the region and building synergy across the various functions and business groups.
Qualifications
Experience Required:
•7-10 years of industry experience, with at least 5 years dedicated to sales or revenue management.
•Superb oral and written communication skills.
•Experience leading and developing communications with a variety of stakeholders, including owners.
•Excellent knowledge in Sales, Marketing, Revenue management, Digital, budgeting, inventory control, forecasting.
•Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
•Experience identifying and building business opportunities in different market segments.
•Recognized as an energetic leader, with proven success in hotel commercial roles, strong motivator & communicator, goal-driven, hard worker, strategic thinker, and problem solver & self-motivated.
•Experience managing multi-property models.
•Highly refined Analytical skills and interpretation of data for strategic decision-making.
•Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
•High performer under pressure and deadlines with a high sense of urgency.
•Excellent Team Leadership and management of multi-cultural teams.
•Estimated travel Percentage 30%.
Experience Preferred:
•Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred.
•Experience supporting hotels within the lifestyle segment.
•Experience managing teams, strategies, projects, and initiatives at scale.

The salary range for this position is $250,000 to $280,000. This is the pay range for this position that Hyatt reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience and education.
