The News Tribune seeks a talented, self-motivated visual journalist to join its award-winning newsroom in Tacoma, a vibrant city on the shores of the Puget Sound in the Pacific Northwest.
This position focuses on shooting, editing and producing original photo and video content across multiple platforms, including but not limited to our content management system, YouTube and multiple social media channels like Instagram and TikTok.
This individual will be required to produce daily and long-term photo and video stories. Visual journalists play a critical role, working closely with newsroom colleagues to tell the most important and timely stories. A strong work ethic, the ability to multi-task and the aptitude to work across short- and long-term deadlines is required.
This is an editorial position with a strong focus on producing quality videos to supplement our storytelling. The producer part of this role could have you working closely with other regional colleagues across the Northwest.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is between $24.04 and $28.85 per hour. Individual base pay may vary within that range depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, department equity and relevant education.

Other requirements:
- College degree or equivalent work experience, at least 2-3 years of digital journalism experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with DSLR and professional video cameras, capturing sound and video editing.
- Knowledge of non-linear video editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro
- FAA Part 107 drone license is preferable but not required
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
