BAE Systems is looking for a Chief Systems Engineer for a Wargaming Program. The Chief Systems Engineer will lead ongoing systems engineering and provide leadership to transitioning of the prototype into Production and Operational Deployment environment for USMC users at Quantico VA. This is a truly exciting opportunity to guide and lead a broad technical team consisting of expertise in Systems Engineering, Modeling and Simulation, Software Development and Integration, DevSecOps, Data Management, Predictive Analytics, multi-cloud engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. As such the Chief Engineer will use knowledge, skills, abilities, and demonstrated experience in these technical areas.
Working under the guidance of the Modeling and Simulation Solutions Business Area Chief Engineer, the Wargaming program Chief Systems Engineer will foster engineering innovation, rigor and workforce development within the program. They will ensure the program operates within the BAE Systems Life Cycle Management (LCM) processes, focusing on technical design reviews and key gates. The Wargaming program Chief Systems Engineer will:
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the program
- Ensure large scale systems of systems are modeled, risk identified and reduced, with a delivery mechanism in place for life-cycle engineering and sustainment of the wargaming system
- Ensure the right technical talent is in place to serve the program requirements, operating as the key resource to program leadership on technical team assessment.
- Develop and maintain program technology roadmaps.

Work Location:
- Duties expected to be performed at the BAE Systems Facility known as Dulles North located in Sterling, Virginia. Support may also be required at the customer facility located in Quantico Virginia.
- Alternate work locations must be agreed to in writing by BAE Systems at time of hire and is subject to change due to contract requirements.
- Master Degree in Engineering or Technology with hands-on experience in Modeling and Simulations, Systems Engineering, Software Development and Integration, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Wargaming.
- Ability to write technical reports and white papers, and effectively communicate with internal and customer stakeholders.
- 10+ years of direct technical experience
- PHD in a scientific or engineering field with hands-on Modeling and Simulations experience.
- Preferred if the candidate has USMC experience and has wargaming knowledge. Must be able to tactfully lead a team of very senior engineers.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $140690 - $239140

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
