Summary:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic Accounting Manager to oversee our accounting processes. This role involves managing accounts payable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and ensuring company policies and procedures are being adhered to as they pertain to all aspects of the accounting function. You will work closely with the CFO while managing our accounting clerk to enhance operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and enforce accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist with annual audits and tax filings.
- Complete monthly close activities and prepare financial reports.
- Supervise the accounting assistant and ensure quality performance.
- Generate invoices for events, private functions, and the equine.
- Process bi-weekly payroll, ensuring proper tax classifications and allocations.
- Review accounts payable, print checks and manage the 1099 filings.
- Ensure cash controls are maintained and deposit cash weekly.
- Record and reconcile intercompany charges monthly.
- Review bank statement reconciliations and manage outstanding checks.
- Prepare account reconciliations and track expenses for various projects.
- Collaborate with staff to enhance payable and invoicing processes.
- Review accounts receivable monthly, investigating open items over 60 days.
- Provide training and technical support to team members.
- File annual unclaimed property reports and sales tax, as required.
- Maintain accounts and classes within the accounting system.
- Assist with projects as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 3-5 years of professional accounting experience.
- QuickBooks experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of GAAP and not-for-profit accounting is a plus.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and make sound decisions.
- Ability to successfully pass a post-offer pre-employment drug test and fingerprint FBI background screen
