Operational Hours: Plant operates 24 hours/5 days a week; weekends as needed. This role will mainly be day shift and other shifts as necessary to keep up with business needs. Typical hours are 6:00 am - 4:00 pm.
This role is part of our Purina Animal Nutrition business helping our network of local cooperatives, independent dealers and other large retailers serve producers, and animal owners throughout the United States. Through industry-leading R&D and committed partnerships, we innovate the nutrition products and practices that unlock the full potential of every animal for a healthier, more productive life.
Responsibilities include: management of a preventative maintenance program and parts inventory, successful management of capital projects, responding to equipment failures in a timely manner, working with the management team on initiatives to reduce cost and improve quality, developing skills of assigned staff, proactively make recommendations and follow through on improving overall process systems.
Required Experience & Education:
High School Diploma and 4+ years of maintenance supervisory experience OR Associate Degree/2 Year Technical Certificate in a directly relevant discipline and 2-4 years of maintenance supervisor experience.
Strong leadership, coaching and training skills are highly needed for this role.
While this position is primarily a day shift position, the successful candidate must be available to work all shifts as business needs dictate.
Must have a wide technical knowledge including: Electrical, PLC, Mechanical, Machining, Boiler, Welding, and General Construction practices. We are seeking in this role good written and oral listening/communication
Required Competencies & Other Skills: We are seeking this candidate to have proven leadership and supervisory skills, strong communication/interpersonal skills, employee development skills, problem solving skills, and the ability to plan and organize. In addition, the candidate must possess the ability to manage conflict, align performance for success and initiate action.
