Find your superpower with the Graduate Development Program

National Grid's Graduate Development Program (GDP) is a year-long development program for recent college graduates who aspire to take on future leadership roles in a dynamic, ever-changing industry. Graduates will shape the future of National Grid. Bringing fresh thinking, new perspectives, and exploring with energy, we'll give you real responsibility and an opportunity to move with purpose from day one - putting the power to supercharge your career in your hands.

Graduates start their careers at National Grid with an in-depth 3-week in-person Orientation which gives you exposure to all parts of the company, allows you to network with your Graduate cohort, GDP alumni, and senior leaders, and provides you with the opportunity to travel throughout our service territory in the northeast US. Following Orientation, you'll begin working in full-time position outlined below and take part in ongoing development activities including quarterly development sessions, active mentorship, and a Hackathon Project.

About the Position

As an Associate Account Manager, Customer Connections you will work directly with our largest customers, our commercial and industrial customers! In this role you will build strong relationships with our customers, work to help them utilize our suite of solutions and energy incentives and coordinate our internal strategy to meet their energy needs. We at National Grid are committed to the success of our customers. In this role you will be critically important in driving us toward the clean energy future!

This is a hybrid role based in Waltham, Massachusetts.

What You'll Do

As an Associate Account Manager, you will own the customer relationship and serve as the customer expert within National Grid.

In this role you will:

  • Engage customers with curiosity and intent to learn, and to develop strategic partnerships.
  • Share knowledge and develop technical understanding for economic development, energy efficiency, electric vehicles, and the future of heat solutions to determine and shape the customer experience.
  • Provide technical guidance, support, and coaching to establish National Grid as a leader in energy solutions and electric fleet management.
  • Build multithreaded relationships within customer account to ensure balanced feedback and account strategy development.
  • Take initiative to understand business functions within National Grid and supporting organizations, building relationships across teams.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited institution

  • Graduated between May 2024 and June 2025

  • Ability to begin the National Grid Graduate Program on June 2, 2025 or July 7, 2025

  • Valid driver's license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid's Safe Driver policy

  • Applicants for the Graduate Development Program must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States (such as sponsorship for an H-1B, TN, O, L, STEM OPT, or other employment-based work authorization)

Salary Range
Waltham, Massachusetts $64,600 - $76,000 a year

Please note US Colleagues must reside within our existing footprint, which includes Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island and Vermont. As a National Grid employee, you should also reside within a reasonable, commutable distance to your assigned primary office.
