Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and Planned Parenthood Action Fund (PPAF) seek a dynamic and effective Temporary Treasury Specialist. This temporary job reports to the Treasury Sr. Director in the Finance Department of PPFA. The Finance Department strategically manages the finance and accounting functions of the organization, providing confidence to all stakeholders in the fiscal and fiduciary responsibility of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Planned Parenthood Action Fund (PPAF), its subsidiaries, PAC, SuperPac and Scale for Change, as well as Planned Parenthood Global (PPG) with a commitment to customer service, sound controls, compliance monitoring, and timely, accurate, and complete reporting, analysis and decision support to further the Federation's mission.
Purpose:
• The Temporary Treasury Specialist, in collaboration with the Senior Director of Treasury Services, provides support for the entire treasury function within the National Office. Operationally, the Cash Management Specialist ensures the efficient depositing and recording of the organization's cash, liaises with various financial service vendors for optimum service and pricing and provides analytical support to enable informed management decision-making.
Engagement: • This role works closely with all functions in Finance, PP Global staff, financial operations, and management staff throughout the organization. Externally, this position interacts regularly with bank and other financial institution representatives to transact on and administration of accounts.
Delivery:
• Performs the cash receipt function at NY Headquarters in conjunction with the Development Division Contributions Processor
• Performs Remote Scan Deposit of all checks into applicable bank accounts Responsible for all cash deposits at the bank
• Responsible for all credit card receipts and communicating them securely to the development department
• Appropriately deposits and researches all receivable payments made to Planned Parenthood Federation of America from National Affiliates and Affiliated Organizations
• Daily reporting of PPFA stock donations
• Coordinates with Accounting regarding any questionable deposit based upon federal guidelines and internal protocols for deposit into each of Planned Parenthood Federation of America's associated entities
• Communicate with Accounting and other relevant individuals in Planned Parenthood Federation of America (including Legal, Planned Giving, and Major Gifts) regarding any gift/deposit that may be questionable to deposit based upon existing regulations and internal protocols
• Coordinates with other department members regarding any other expected payments about Planned Parenthood Federation of America and Planned Parenthood Action Fund's related work nationally and internationally, including daily monitoring and reporting of wire and credit card payments to applicable staff
• Coordinates with Development Division and Accounting to provide all necessary and requested backup documentation in connection with the Finance department control process and Annual Audit
• Performs other duties as assigned and requested
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
• High-School Diploma or equivalent required. An associate degree or beyond is highly preferred
• 3-6 months experience in deposit cash management preferred
• Skills/Knowledge: Knowledge of deposit process and banking terminology [preferred]
• Working Excel skills required
• Knowledge of General Ledger and banking systems preferred. Familiarity with Google Docs, sheets, and mail, preferred but not required
• Excellent Customer Service skills required
• Position requires strong data entry, organizational skills, and attention to detail, in addition to the ability to effectively and timely communicate sensitive donor/deposit information to internal and external staff and associates as needed
• Must possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The position requires access to sensitive bank and donor information and, therefore, also requires diplomacy and great discretion.
