About the Role
In support of the firm’s growth in the US Wealth channel, we are currently seeking to recruit a high-quality US Registered Fund Accounting Expert to join our Fund Services team located in the US. This senior role is responsible for leading the Fund Control sub-function that comprises fund accounting and performance analysis, valuation, fund asset reconciliation, audit and regulatory support for our “daily” fund ranges. As a critical component of the role, the incumbent will work closely with Fund Controllers and team managers and will be responsible for vendor management, board reporting and presenting in board meetings, and leading cross functional projects to support Wellington-sponsored Funds.
The role requires frequent collaboration with other Wellington teams and external service providers (ex. transfer agency, expense administration, fund administrators, auditors, regulators).
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead and continuously evolve the Fund Control sub-function, including the training and supervision of junior team members
• Act as the Subject Matter Expert on fund accounting and performance, as well as associated systems and processes
• Plan and manage the work of fund administrators responsible for processing a high volume of transactions and NAVs
• Develop and continually refine or automate NAV controls to scale fund control operations.
• Assist in answering inquiries from business and investment stakeholders
• Uphold the control environment and provide strong supervisory oversight across fund control
• Develop and manage relationships with Welington’s centralized teams and service providers
• Support other Fund Operations and Control responsibilities as necessary, including fund launches, fund closures, and reporting
• Lead and support initiatives, both large and small, associated with the funds, system infrastructure, and service providers
QUALIFICATIONS
• 10+ years’ Fund Accounting and/or Financial Services Audit experience
• Broad-based ‘40 Act knowledge and experience
• Experience with interval and tender offer funds structures and strategies preferred
• Securities Valuation and SEC Rule 2a-5 familiarity a plus
• A natural curiosity and desire to expand one’s knowledge and role
• A proactive nature in developing and improving processes
• Advanced business intelligence/IT skills using Alteryx, SQL, Tableau or a desire to develop them
• A proactive nature in developing and improving processes
• Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, performing multiple tasks and balancing competing priorities
• A client service mindset and strong communication skills
• CPA or CFA a plus

Our approach to compensation considers all aspects of total compensation; all employees are eligible to receive salary, variable compensation, and benefits. The base salary range for this position is:
USD 100,000 - 225,000This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process.
Base salary is only one component of Wellington’s total compensation approach. Other rewards may include a discretionary Corporate Bonus and/ or Incentives, if eligible.
